Companion awarded Which? Trusted Trader Status

Yorkshire-headquartered Companion Stairlifts has been awarded Which? Trusted Trader status after completing the consumer champion's rigorous vetting procedure that recognises and endorses reputable companies.

Companion supplies stairlifts and bathing products to both private individuals and large organisations such as independent mobility shops across the UK.

Managing director Clare Brophy says the UK’s ageing population and increased demand for home adaptation products such as stairlifts and walk-in baths and wet rooms means Companion is experiencing strong year-on-year growth.

“We have been operating since 2003, putting our customers’ needs first and committing to advising and selling responsibly in this unregulated market. It’s important to us that our customer service is recognised as being first class, and the Which? Trusted Trader scheme gives an independent assurance to our customers so they can have complete confidence in Companion.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have achieved Trusted Trader status and I’d like to thank the whole team for their hard work and dedication and for going the extra mile to make Companion such a success.”

Which? Trusted Traders (www.whichtraders.co.uk) is a free-to-use service that helps consumers find local, endorsed traders. Every Which? Trusted Trader must undergo a rigorous assessment process, which includes credit and customer reference checks, and a visit from a Which? Trusted Traders assessor. The visit includes an assessment of various aspects of the business such as administrative processes, documentation and complaints procedures.

To celebrate becoming a Which? Trusted Trader Companion has launched a new look website www.companionstairlifts.co.uk and is currently recruiting to grow its team of experienced telesales associates based in Guiseley.

“This year has been fantastic already, with turnover up by almost a quarter. Now with the Trusted Trader endorsement we’re hoping for greater success in the last quarter of the year,” added Clare.
